Attorney Clay Schaeffer focuses his practice on representing individuals and businesses in labor and employment law matters, in addition to handling workers’ compensation cases for injured workers and representing people who have been charged with crimes in state and federal court. A St. Louis area native, Clay grew up in Creve Coeur and attended St. Louis Priory. From Priory, Clay enrolled at Mizzou, where he was accepted to the Honors College as an incoming freshman. Upon graduation from Mizzou, Clay accepted a Dean’s Scholarship to attend the University of Dayton School of Law. After law school, Clay moved back to St. Louis to begin his career.
Prior to founding Schaeffer Law, Clay gained experience in multiple arenas. He represented indigent clients as a clinician in law school, interned with Missouri’s 45th Judicial Circuit at the Lincoln County Circuit Court, and clerked for local attorneys. Clay also spent three years at St. Louis Cold Drawn, Inc. (STLCD), which is the third largest domestic manufacturer of cold finished steel bars in North America. At STLCD, Clay served as the company’s General Counsel, Controller, and VP of Compliance. His experience in manufacturing gives him a unique perspective that makes him an excellent advocate of mistreated parties in labor and employment law cases.
